CALCSAFE - TERMS & CONDITIONS AND PRIVACY POLICY
PART 1: TERMS AND CONDITIONS
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last Updated: July 9, 2026
Welcome to CalcSafe (the "Application" or "App").
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your download, installation, and use of CalcSafe. By accessing or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download, install, or use the Application.
1. Description of Services
CalcSafe is a local security, privacy, and utility vault application for iOS. The features of the Application include, but are not limited to:
- Calculator Lock Disguise: A stealth lock interface disguised as a fully functional calculator that reveals the vault when the correct PIN or passcode is entered.
- Privacy Vault: Local folder-based storage and viewing of hidden media (photos and videos).
- Secure Wallet: Local storage for confidential card details, identity cards, bank account details, and driver’s licenses.
- Private Browser: An integrated web browser for private navigation using third-party search engines, complete with tab management, bookmarks, and local search configurations.
- Dual Messenger & Chat Backup: An offline parsing tool for local zip and text files containing exported chat archives (such as WhatsApp backups) to view messages and attachments locally.
- Intruder Alert (Intruder Selfie): A local security tool that triggers the device's front-facing camera to capture a photograph of individuals attempting unauthorized access to the application using incorrect passcodes.
- Panic Trigger: An automated fallback mechanism that closes/locks the App or redirects the user to a public website (e.g., Google) when the device is placed face-down or shaken.
- Decoy Lock System: The ability to configure a decoy passcode that opens a secondary, separate vault to mislead unauthorized persons.
2. Local-Only Nature of the Application
CalcSafe operates strictly as an offline, local-only application.
- All data, media, files, text transcripts, wallet cards, private notes, browsing history, and captured intruder photos are stored locally on your device within secure sandbox storage.
- There are no central servers, databases, or cloud environments operated by the Developer of CalcSafe.
- The Developer has no access to your files, photos, passwords, chats, lock credentials, or security question answers.
- NO CLOUD BACKUPS ARE MAINTAINED BY US: If you lose your device, uninstall the Application, delete your device storage, or forget your passcode (and are unable to recover it via your security question), you will lose all data stored inside CalcSafe. The Developer cannot recover your credentials or data under any circumstances.
3. Passcode Security, Recovery, and Decoy Passcode
- Responsibility: You are solely responsible for memorizing your PIN, passcode, and pattern configurations.
- Security Questions: During setup, you are required to define a security question and answer. This information is stored locally and is the only available method to recover your PIN. The Developer does not store this answer and cannot reset it.
- Decoy Passcode: The decoy lock system is provided as-is for convenience. It is not an absolute defense against skilled physical analysis, and you must use it responsibly.
4. Specific Feature Rules & Disclaimers
A. Private Web Browser
The Private Web Browser is built using Apple’s standard WKWebView component.
- The Browser allows you to access the general internet. You are bound by the terms of service of the third-party websites and search engines (such as Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo) you visit.
- The Developer is not responsible for any contents, advertisements, or security threats encountered during browsing.
- Any local cache, cookies, history, or bookmarks are stored locally on your device. It is your responsibility to wipe your browser history or clear tabs to maintain physical privacy.
B. Chat Backup Parser
The Chat Backup tool is designed to allow local parsing of text and zip archives exported from third-party messaging services (e.g., WhatsApp).
- The parsing occurs offline and locally.
- You must ensure you have the legal right to import and parse any chat files.
- The App does not sync, send, or share these chats with any third-party networks.
C. Intruder Alert (Camera Capture)
The Intruder Alert feature utilizes your device's camera to take a photo when a breakdown of access parameters occurs (e.g., exceeding the failed passcode threshold).
- Legality of Camera Usage: You must ensure that enabling and utilizing this feature complies with all applicable privacy and data capture laws in your jurisdiction.
- The captured images are stored entirely in your device’s secure local storage and are displayed in the "Intruder Alert" section of the App. The Developer has absolutely no way to access, view, or distribute these photographs.
5. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not use the Application to:
- Store, transmit, or parse content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, invasive of another's privacy, or otherwise unlawful.
- Circumvent any intellectual property or local rights of others.
- Use the private browser for illegal activities.
- Decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Application.
6. Intellectual Property
All design, layouts, code, custom logos, graphics, and UI themes are the intellectual property of the Developer (or its licensors) and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial use on compatible devices owned or controlled by you.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Without limiting the foregoing, the Developer does not warrant that:
- The Application will be completely uninterrupted, secure, or free from bugs, viruses, or software errors.
- The security systems (passcode, calculator disguise, decoy passcode, intruder alert) are completely impenetrable to dedicated hacking, data forensic tools, or physical extraction of device memory.
- Your data will never be corrupted or lost. You are advised to maintain independent backups of all critical personal data.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES arising out of or in connection with:
- Your use of or inability to use the Application.
- The loss, corruption, deletion, or theft of any content (including photos, videos, wallet items, chats, and notes) stored in the App.
- Unauthorized access to your device or data resulting from sharing passcodes, device loss, or security compromises.
- Any software malfunction or hardware failure.
9. Third-Party Services and Sites
The App contains links to third-party search engines and websites (via the Private Browser). These terms do not apply to third-party services. We encourage you to review their terms before browsing or submitting information.
10. Modifications to Terms
The Developer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. When updates occur, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised. Continued use of the Application after changes constitute acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Contact Information
If you have any questions or concerns regarding these Terms and Conditions, please contact the Developer at:

PART 2: PRIVACY POLICY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last Updated: July 9, 2026
CalcSafe (the "Application" or "App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you download, install, and use the Application on iOS devices.
Because CalcSafe is designed as a local security utility, it prioritizes offline operation. All data you import, create, or store within the Application remains strictly on your device. We do not host or operate backend servers to store or access your personal data.
1. Local-First Architecture (Offline Storage)
All categories of personal data created or imported within the App are processed and saved locally in secure folders on your iOS device:
- Private Media: Hidden photos and videos are stored inside your device's sandbox in the Application Support directory (PrivacyVaultMedia).
- Secure Wallet & Cards: Credit cards, identity cards, driver’s licenses, bank accounts, and notes are encoded and stored in local device preferences (UserDefaults).
- Private Contacts: Your custom vault contacts list is kept locally inside the App's private database.
- Intruder Alert Reports: Photos of unauthorized login attempts and access logs are stored strictly inside the App's local container.
- Chat Backups: Parsed WhatsApp archives and messages are extracted and indexed locally.
- Bookmarks & History: Browsing bookmarks, search engine configurations, and histories are stored locally.
We do not transmit, upload, sync, or backup any of this information to external databases, remote servers, or third-party cloud systems. We cannot access, read, retrieve, or recover any of your stored data.
2. Device Permissions We Request
To provide the security features and utilities in the App, we request access to the following device hardware and software functions. You may grant or deny these permissions at any time via your iOS Settings.
A. Camera Access
- Purpose: Used for the Intruder Alert (Intruder Selfie) feature.
- Use Case: When enabled, the App automatically uses the front-facing camera to capture a photograph of anyone who repeatedly enters an incorrect passcode.
- Processing: The captured image data is stored locally in the App's sandbox space. It is never transmitted to us or any third parties.
B. Photos Library & Media Access
- Purpose: Used to import and export your private media.
- Use Case: Needed to select images and videos from your system camera roll and securely save them in the local vault.
- Processing: Files are copied locally to the secure App directory. You have the option to delete the original files from the public Photos Library after importing.
C. Files & Document Picker Access
- Purpose: Used to locate and import offline files.
- Use Case: Needed to import and extract zip files or text documents (such as WhatsApp exported chat archives) for viewing within the Chat Backup parser.
- Processing: All parsing, zip extraction, and rendering are performed entirely offline and locally on your device.
D. Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID)
- Purpose: Used for convenient vault unlocking.
- Use Case: Allows you to unlock your vault using Touch ID or Face ID if enabled in Settings.
- Processing: The biometric data is processed entirely by the iOS operating system's Secure Enclave. The App only receives a success or failure notification from the system and never has access to your actual biometric keys.
E. Network/Internet Access
- Purpose: Used by the Private Browser feature.
- Use Case: Allows the built-in browser component (WKWebView) to request and download websites you navigate to.
- Processing: Network connections are made directly from your device to the target website's servers. The Developer does not track, intercept, or log any websites you visit.
3. Data Collection by Third Parties
While the App does not collect or transmit your data, the following third-party integrations may receive or process data depending on your actions:
- Private Web Browser: When you navigate the web, the Private Browser loads third-party sites and uses search engines (such as Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo). These external sites operate under their own independent privacy policies and terms of service. They may collect cookies, IP addresses, search queries, and browsing data as standard web protocols dictate.
- Apple App Store: Apple collects analytics and transaction data when you download or purchase the App. This data is handled in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Security of Your Data
We employ standard local security measures to safeguard your vault contents:
- Lock Screen Access: Users must configure a Calculator PIN, standard PIN, or Pattern lock to access the vault.
- Decoy Vault System: A secondary passcode can be configured to show a separate, decoy vault environment to protect you from coercion.
- Local Application Sandboxing: iOS security features prevent other applications on your device from accessing CalcSafe's private storage directory.
However, no security mechanism is completely flawless. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, choosing a strong passcode, and keeping your passcode and security answers confidential.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Self-Managed Retention: Because all your data is stored locally, it remains on your device for as long as the Application is installed.
- Uninstallation: Uninstalling the Application from your iOS device will instantly and permanently delete all local databases, imported photos, videos, secure notes, wallet items, and parsed chat histories. This data cannot be recovered once the App is uninstalled.
- Backup Limitations: Standard iOS backups (such as iCloud device backups or local computer backups) may include the App's container data depending on your device settings. Please manage your system backup settings to exclude the App if you do not want your encrypted vault container copied to iCloud.
6. European Union (EU) Consent & GDPR Disclosures
If you are using the Application from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK Data Protection Act apply.
- Legal Basis for Processing: Because CalcSafe is a local-only application, any data processing (such as storing your media, wallet items, or parsed chats) is performed entirely on your device and based on your consent and instructions. No data is sent to us.
- Your GDPR Rights: Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, restrict, or delete your personal data. Because we do not collect or store your data on servers, you can exercise these rights directly on your own device:
* To rectify or delete data: You can edit or delete folders, photos, secure cards, contacts, and notes directly inside the App.
* To completely delete all data: Simply uninstall the App from your device, which deletes all local sandbox storage.
- Revoking Device Permissions: You can revoke consent for camera, photo library, or document picker access at any time via your device's Settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Application does not target children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data online, we do not knowingly gather information from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a child has saved sensitive information inside the App, they can remove it simply by uninstalling the App or manually clearing the vault folders.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy within this document and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. We recommend you review this policy periodically for any changes.
9. Contact Us
